Guillermo De La Puente is the founding attorney of The De La Puente Law Firm and a Miami native who has spent more than a decade in private practice handling a broad range of civil and criminal matters. Born and raised in Miami, Mr. De La Puente brings a deep understanding of the local legal landscape and the community he serves.
He is a graduate of Belen Jesuit Preparatory School and earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Miami. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, he also worked as an intern to the General Counsel of a United States Senator, gaining exposure to complex legal analysis and high-level advisory work.
Prior to founding his current firm, Mr. De La Puente served as Managing Partner of a full-service law firm for ten years, overseeing litigation across multiple practice areas. During that time, he worked closely alongside a former Miami-Dade County judge, gaining valuable insight into how cases are evaluated both in and out of the courtroom. That experience continues to inform his approach to litigation, focused on preparation, credibility, and strategic judgment.
Over the course of his career, Mr. De La Puente has handled matters involving personal injury, insurance disputes, criminal defense, and family law, among others. His experience spans nearly every phase of litigation and negotiation, allowing him to anticipate issues, assess risk realistically, and guide clients through difficult decisions with clarity and confidence.
